Christ’s Love Renews Our Sacred Heart Communities
Today, our school communities celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a feast that draws us into Christ’s boundless love—a love that believes in us, strengthens us to achieve, and accompanies us through every joy and challenge. This message shines across our St. Clair Catholic community as two Sacred Heart schools began inspiring new chapters this school year.
Earlier this year in Port Lambton, the unveiling of the Sacred Heart River Hawks reflected a community that believes in one another and in the power of shared identity. Chosen through a collaborative process involving students, families, and staff, the River Hawk symbolizes strength, clarity of vision, and resilience. Principal Mandy Guenette shares, “Our new River Hawks identity captures who we are, connected to our land, guided by our faith, and united as a community that lifts one another up.” Inspired by our local landscape and enriched by Scripture, the hawk reminds us to believe in God’s wisdom, to achieve with purpose, and to accompany one another with care as we soar together.
At the beginning of this school year in Sarnia, the newly reopened Sacred Heart Catholic School stands as a vibrant sign of what can be accomplished when we work in hope. The bright, modern learning spaces filled with light and creativity reflect a school community devoted to faith, excellence, and compassion. Principal Tina Jarvis reflects, “Walking through our new building reminds us of the incredible things we can accomplish together. This is a place where students feel loved, supported, and inspired to grow.”
On this feast of the Sacred Heart, we celebrate Christ’s enduring love—the source of renewal that continues to shape and strengthen both Sacred Heart communities and all schools across St. Clair Catholic. His love guides our growth, inspires our mission, and reminds us that every act of learning and service begins in the heart of Christ.
