St. Clair Catholic’s French Immersion schools were a sea of green and white as they celebrated Franco-Ontarian Day on Sept. 25.

Franco-Ontarian Day honors the rich history, culture, and contributions of Ontario’s Francophone community.

Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be observed on Sept. 30. 

For the past 10 years, St. Clair Catholic schools have participated in Orange Shirt Day and engaged in week-long learning to help students understand the significance of wearing orange. During Truth and Reconciliation Weeks from Sept. 21 to Oct. 2, schools have multiple opportunities to learn firsthand through Indigenous partnerships.

On Tuesday, students at Christ the King were greeted with colourful chalk drawings and uplifting messages as they arrived for their first day of school.

The artwork was created during the school's "Chalk Our Walk" event on Monday, where about 20 families spent the morning decorating the sidewalks and playground asphalt.

St. John Fisher Catholic School reopened to staff and students on Monday, January 12, following the successful completion of extensive cleanup and restoration work carried out over the weekend after a minor fire occurred in a kitchenette late Friday.

Running from January 13 to January 28, 2026, KinderSTARt invites families to visit local schools, meet caring educators, and connect with community partners who support children and families as they begin this important journey.  Each event is thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming environment where children can explore their new surroundings and build confidence as they prepare for kindergarten.
