Entering the Season of Lent — Anchored in Hope
As we enter the sacred season of Lent, the students at St. Elizabeth Catholic School are reflecting on what this meaningful time calls us to be.
Mikenna shares that Lent invites us to slow down and think about what is most important in our faith. In the busyness of school and daily life, it is a gentle reminder to pause, pray, and listen for God’s presence.
Hunter reminds us that Lent is a time for prayer, helping others, and sometimes giving up small things so we can grow closer to Jesus. These simple sacrifices help shape our hearts and guide us to live more like Him.
For Kaliyah, Lent is also about community. We are not alone on this journey. At St. Clair Catholic, we learn and grow together, supporting one another each day. Jesse adds that it is the care and encouragement of teachers, students, and families that makes our school community strong and faith-filled.
Amelia beautifully describes Lent as a time of hope — a hope that acts like an anchor, keeping us steady. Even the smallest acts of kindness, patience, and sharing can make a big difference in someone’s day.
As Jr reminds us, as we prepare our hearts for Easter, may we be people of hope in our classrooms, hallways, and homes. May we show the love of Jesus in everything we do.
Director of Education Lisa Demers shares, “Lent is a sacred opportunity for each of us to renew our hearts in faith and compassion. When we anchor ourselves in hope, we become living witnesses of Christ’s love in our schools, our families, and our community.”
Together, we journey through Lent as a faith-filled community, strengthened by one another and Anchored in Hope.
