St. Matthew Receives Special Poppy Delivery Ahead of Remembrance Day
On Oct. 26, the St. Matthew school community welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Poland, parents of Corporal Brent Poland, who visited to deliver Remembrance Day poppies for students and staff.
The date holds a special significance to the Poland family as it marked Brent's birthday. Brent courageously served his county and made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Afghanistan in 2007. In gratitude for their visit, enduring kindness, and continued connection to the school, staff and students presents the Poland family with flowers.
A heartfelt thank you to the Poland family for helping us honour Brent's memory and teaching our students the true meaning of remembrance.
