Walking Together Anchored in Hope: A Week of Faith, Connection and Remembrance

This week, from May 3 to 9, we come together not only as a Catholic school system but a Catholic community to honour three important observances that speak to who we are—people rooted in faith, dignity, compassion, and care for one another.

Canadian Mental Health Week

Running alongside Catholic Education Week is Canadian Mental Health Week, guided by the national theme Come Together, Canada. Stronger connections, better mental health. This message reminds us that belonging, relationships, and community are essential to well-being.

We invite everyone to continue fostering environments where each person feels seen and supported. Small moments of encouragement and presence can make a profound difference.

Red Dress Day – May 5

On Tuesday, May 5, we recognize Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. We honour the lives of those who have been lost and commit ourselves to learning, truth, and reconciliation.

At all St. Clair Catholic schools and offices, the Every Child Matters flag will be flown beside our national flag at half-staff to mark the significance of this day.

As we enter this meaningful week, may we continue to walk together as a community of hope—lifting one another up, strengthening connections, and honouring the dignity of every person.
