Co-operative Education
Co‑op combines in‑class learning with real‑world work experience. Students build the knowledge and skills they need in the classroom, then apply and deepen that learning in a community placement. This hands‑on approach helps students connect school learning with future career pathways. Special summer co‑op opportunities are also available for Indigenous students.

Co‑op courses can be taken for 2 or 4 credits, with at least 2 credits recommended to ensure students have enough time at their placement to fully meet course expectations.
Several Ministry programs run within cooperative education, including:
- OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program): Allows students to explore apprenticeship pathways.
- SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major): Lets students focus on a specific sector while earning certifications.
- Dual Credits: Enables students to take college courses and earn both high school and college credits.
