IT support will never ask for passwords or authentication codes.

Here are some tips to ensure that you do not fall for such scams:

Verify the source: Contact IT directly before clicking links or sharing info.
Never share passwords or MFA codes: These are for your use only.
Enable extra security features: Use biometrics, one-time passwords, or MFA wherever possible.
Be alert for phishing: Unexpected requests for codes or passwords are likely scams.
Report suspicious activity: Notify your IT or security team immediately if something seems off.

Our systems house a variety of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This information can be accidentally leaked or targeted for by cybercriminals for profit. School boards must ensure that personally identifiable information is stored, processed, and transmitted securely.

Common Threats:
