On Saturday, December 6, hundreds of volunteers—led by St. Patrick’s Catholic High School students, active and retired staff, and caring community members from Sarnia, Bright’s Grove, and Point Edward—took to the streets to collect non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for the 42nd annual Irish Miracle.
There will be no changes in the leadership of the St. Clair Catholic Board of Trustees for 2026.
The Director’s Annual Report 2025 was presented to the Board of Trustees at its meeting of December 2, 2025.
Students at St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Wallaceburg squealed and howled with delight as 32 litres of ketchup was shot from squirt bottles at Principal Mike Giroux. Dressed as a giant hot dog, Mr. Giroux made a real splash, as he was doused again and again with the sticky, red condiment, in the school’s ‘Sauce the Boss’ fundraising event.
For more than four decades, the St. Patrick’s Irish Miracle has been a light to help brighten the lives of those in our community who need a little help at Christmas. The event, which began in 1983, brings hundreds of student, staff, parent and community volunteer canvassers into every neighbourhood in Sarnia, Bright’s Grove and Point Edward, to collect non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

St. Matthew Catholic School in Sarnia joined Operation Christmas Child this year to help support children and families in need around the world. Together, the school community collected items such as toys, school supplies and hygiene products to fill donation shoeboxes.

St. Anne Catholic School in Blenheim recently received a boost toward promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
The school received a generous $2,500 donation, which was made possible through a partnership between the JoLynn Deprez Athletic Fund, the Chatham Kent Community Foundation and Canadian Tire Blenheim.
